Seven floors lie behind a gorgeous internal atrium full of natural light, water elements, and greenery that also serve as the focal point of the whole building. Karlín: A World Unto its Own
There’s no doubt that Karlín is a singular location. The district lodged between the Vltava River, Vítkov hill, and the Negrelli viaduct has experienced rapid growth in recent years. It’s become one of the city’s premier locations and Riverside Karlín has significantly contributed to that development.
Imagine 30 5-meter-long anacondas laid head-to-tail. Got it? That’s the distance to the closest tram stop at Karlínské náměstí. From here it’s a one-minute ride to the Křižíkova station on the metro’s B line, or two minutes to Florenc where the B and C metro lines intersect at one of the city’s major bus terminals.
Parking on Rohanské nábřeží is impossible? Says who? Amazon Court has 254 parking spaces in its garages. In just a few minutes, you’re in a tunnel leaving the city in any direction or headed to the airport. Maybe you’re looking for something extra. Well, Riverside Karlín is now directly connected to the HolKa footbridge meaning a trip from Karlín to Holešovice takes only 10 minutes, and the views are well worth it!

Intake towers pull fresh air underground where its filtered and pumped into the building. The system exchanges all the air inside as often as four times an hour, supplying more oxygen than traditional ventilation systems.
The building was awarded a platinum DGNB certificate, which is the benchmark international environmental certification system. The emphasis is on the building’s sustainability with a view to both its environmental impact and overall costs. Amazon Court is the first project in the Czech Republic to be recognized this way, and everyone within the building can work in a healthy, pleasant environment.

Hot as in a greenhouse in the office? Says who?
The more windows, the more light inside. That’s the mantra that guided us during the construction of Amazon Court. We made a glass roof while maintaining a constant pleasant temperature. The windows are equipped with glass that protects from sunlight and reduces temperature increases. The foundation of the roof are air pillows made of clear ETFE polymer that create a breath-taking play of light and shadow.
Amazon Court was designed by Danish architecture studio Schmidt Hammer Lassen. It ingeniously uses several white blocks whose blending with one another creates an original composition. This refreshing and striking design won the international MIPIM Architectural Review Future Project Award 2008 and the 2010 New Administrative Centre category at the Best of Realty awards.
The design of Amazon Court recalls the Amazon rainforest. Enter the atrium and you’re in another world with interior blinds of various colours that automatically close following the sun’s movement. The environment is completed by water elements and greenery, just like the Amazon!
